Ski amadé – Hochkönig Ski Region

At the heart of the Hochkönig ski region lies the Königstour, a spectacular ski circuit covering 35 kilometres of pistes across six mountain peaks, with approximately 7,500 metres of cumulative elevation change. Along the way, breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains make every descent memorable. Traditional mountain huts and the culinary Königstour experiences invite you to take a break and enjoy regional specialities in a beautiful Alpine setting.

Beyond the Königstour, the area around Maria Alm, Dienten and Mühlbach offers plenty of variety for families, beginners and experienced skiers alike. Wide slopes, snowparks and funslopes provide something for everyone. For a more traditional skiing experience away from the busier pistes, the natural snow ski area of Hochkeil and the family-friendly Hinterreit ski area are well worth exploring.

The 2026/27 winter season is expected to begin on 5 December 2026. Ski operations in Mühlbach and Dienten are currently scheduled to continue until 29 March 2027, while Maria Alm is expected to remain open until 4 April 2027. Actual opening dates and lift operations depend on snow and weather conditions.

As part of Ski amadé, Hochkönig is one of the most varied ski regions in Salzburger Land. With approximately 120 kilometres of pistes, 34 lifts and the award-winning Königstour, it offers everything you need for a memorable skiing holiday in Austria.
